Welcome Back!

It was wonderful to see so many of you last night at Open House! The classroom is ready and waiting for a wonderful group of third graders to arrive next Tuesday and start the year. I am very excited to begin this journey as a community of learners together.

Our classroom blog is a community as well. Here we share what we are learning, discuss new ideas with each other, and share our stories. It is just the seed of a community now. Like all seeds, it needs to be cared for if it is going to grow.

Our blog grows when people read it and leave comments.

If you would like, here is something for you to try between now and the first day of school. Along the top of the blog are some tabs that explain how to leave a comment on the blog. One of the tabs is called Quality Comments and the other is called Commenting Video. After looking at those try leaving a short comment on this post. Have your parents or another adult help you.

Tell me something that you are excited about doing this year in third grade, or maybe something fun you did this summer. Or maybe something else. I would love to hear about it! If you don't feel quite ready to comment yet, that's okay. We will be learning a lot about how to write comments this year.

If you do get a chance to leave a comment, Mrs. Essenburg will leave a comment back to you! Who knows, someone else might leave a comment for you as well.

Get ready for a great year!
